Thousands of people demonstrated Wednesday in Bamako to denounce the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
It was at the call of the collective of Muslim associations of Mali. The protesters called on the US president to postpone his decision, which they say undermines Islam and Muslims.
In the streets, demonstrators fluttered the Palestinian and Malian flags, as well as placards that read: “Jerusalem the eternal capital of Palestine.”
Women were also involved. For some, the decision of President Donald Trump is almost like confiscating the third holy place of Islam.
