Ivory Coast’s Legend, Didier Drogba Explains How He Brought Kanté to Chelsea

The recruitment of N’golo Kanté in Chelsea was only possible with the support of the Ivorian legend Didier Drogba. According to the former Ivorian captain, he personally encouraged Chelsea to make a move for N’Golo Kanté after helping Leicester win the Premier League in 2016.

It was with a contract worth £ 30 million that Kanté arrived at Stamford Bridge and played a leading role in Antonio Conte’s team that won the English title. Didier Drogba said he had identified Kanté as a future Chelsea player during his first trip to Leicester.

”  I’m very proud of him, I’m glad he chose Chelsea and the club listened to my advice, they chose him. I’m glad I did not make a mistake. I told them that we should not miss him. I told them when he started in Leicester. Since signing with Chelsea, Kante has also won the PFA Player of the Year award, as well as the FA Cup in 2018. He has also established himself as a key member of the French national team, starting from final victory of the 2018 World Cup on Croatia. Drogba says.

Drogba had two episodes in Chelsea, first between 2004 and 2012, then in 2014-2015, winning a total of four titles in the Premier League, four in the FA Cup and a league of Champions.

This Wednesday, Ivory Coast’s former elephant striker Didier Drogba was named vice-president of Peace and Sport, the international organization for Peace through Sport under the Patronage of Prince Albert II  of Monaco.

” It’s an honor and a great responsibility. Sport is a true ambassador for peace. I really want to get involved, to go on the field. Achieving this goal is more important to me than winning a Champions League, which means a lot to me,“said the top African scorer in the history of the UEFA LDC.
