Ivory Coast: Invited To Do Politics, Here Is The Reaction Of The Ex-Chelsea Legend, Didier Drogba

After being invited by George Weah to embark on politics in Côte d’Ivoire, Didier Drogba has spoken on the issue since his semi-retirement in Phoenix, second division in the USA.

The humanitarian in Ivory Coast is his priority, said the 39-year-old footballer. But, with regard to a presidential ambition, he denies everything for the moment.

“I congratulate George Weah. He is a big brother, a model for me. What he has achieved shows that through hard work and perseverance one can achieve one’s goals, realize one’s dreams for the good of the community,  “Drogba says in an interview with AFP. But the star refuses to embark on any political project for the moment. ” It’s not in my ambitions at the base. George had this ambition for years. Today it’s not my case .

This does not mean that Didier does not care about his country. He has created a foundation that is strongly involved in education. This week, a school in the Guibéroua region in the west of the country will be inaugurated by this foundation. The objective is to promote education in cocoa communities in Côte d’Ivoire.

” This school of six classrooms, with a school canteen, latrines, a football field and three houses of teachers contribute to the physical, social and academic performance of children from the village of Poku-Kouamékro “, said the Swiss food giant Nestlé, and the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI), which supports this project

Education first and foremost

” The best way to have an impact on the future of a people is to educate. Thanks to education, we avoid a lot of socio-ethnic problems. We learn the tolerance and that avoids wars   “estimates the former captain of Ivory Coast,
