1- Both come from West Africa
Drogba was born in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) on March 11, 1978. In his growth, he settled in France with his uncle. Akon, although born in St. Louis, Missouri, is a native of Senegal. He spent seven years there before returning to Uncle Sam’s country.
2- They have a brilliant career
Sparkling at Olympique de Marseille in the 2004-2005 season, Didier joined Chelsea, the club of Russian billionaire Roman Abrahamovic. He gained popularity, and quickly became a legend of the club, with 165 goals to his credit. Captain of the Ivory Coast team, he participated in the world football in 2006, 2010 and 2014 with the Elephants, for which he scored 66 goals. Today he is slowly finishing his career on the US side.
Akon is one of the world’s greatest superstars of the R’n’B. He has enjoyed immense success through his songs sung by millions of fans around the world, one of the most famous of which is the “do not matter” hit. He filled the biggest concert halls in the world during his concerts.
3-They are billionaires
Life has rewarded them well. Since 2005, the singer, author, composer and producer has had his own label known as “Konvict Muzik”, one of the most prestigious. He has a fortune estimated at 80 million dollars (50 billion FCFA). 4-They work for the development of Africa
Drogba runs his own eponymous foundation that works in the social and humanitarian. The Ivorian even inaugurated in early May, his hospital in the commune of Attécoubé. A hospital that provides less costly care to the poor. Akon him, also has a foundation called “Konfidence Foundation” which helps disadvantaged children. He also initiated a project that aims to enlighten Africa, called Akon Lighting Africa.

For Drogba and Akon, the adage that “No one is a prophet at home” seems not to be true. Didier Drogba is a legend in Ivory Coast. Revealed to the Ivorians in the early 2000s, he became the darling of the public. The striker succeeded in giving joy to the millions of Ivorians.
