In Ghana, Secondary Education Is Now Free

For the 2017-18 school year, Ghana is launching a new free secondary education program.

This was one of the campaign promises of newly elected President Nana Akufo-Addo. Through this program, the 400,000 students entering high school this year will benefit from free textbooks, meals and several other benefits.

This policy of the Ghanaian president aims to reduce the dropout rate.
