Impeach Me Now – President Donald Trump Challenges Democrats

President Donald Trump has told Democrats in the US House of Representatives that if they intend to impeach him, they should do it now and fast so that he can have a fair hearing in the Senate.

The United States president tweeted the statement on Thursday evening, December 5, shortly after the speaker, Nancy Pelosi, announced that she had instructed the House judiciary panel to draft articles of impeachment against the US president.

Trump who faulted the announcement by Pelosi said the Democrats have failed to indict him on the Mueller report and were now resorting for impeachment over what he described as a perfect phone call with the Ukrainian president.

He urged the Democrats to impeachment fast so that he could get a fair trial in the Senate and get the country can get back to business.

“The Do Nothing Democrats had a historically bad day yesterday in the House. They have no Impeachment case and are demeaning our Country. But nothing matters to them, they have gone crazy. Therefore I say, if you are going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair,” Trump tweeted.

“Trial in the Senate, and so that our Country can get back to business. We will have Schiff, the Bidens, Pelosi and many more testify, and will reveal, for the first time, how corrupt our system really is. I was elected to “Clean the Swamp,” and that’s what I am doing!”

President Donald Trump also expressed the confidence that the Republicans were united, noting that they will win.

Meanwhile, the United State’s panel in charge of the impeachment inquiry to oust President Donald Trump from office has said that its evidence against him is not only clear but also overwhelming.

The panel claimed that by seeking Ukraine’s help in his 2020 re-election ambition, Trump prioritised personal interest instead of the nation’s political integrity, BBC reports.

However, the US president has referred to the report of the panel as unpatriotic and a witch-hunt instigated by the Democrats in the House, adding that he is not guilty of any of the allegations made against him.
