Senegal has lost six of its nationals when capsizing a boat not far from the Spanish side, precisely to the border town of Ceuta. Our colleagues at Rfm say that Cheikh Ly, Bassirou Fall, Djily Mbengue, Ibrahima Niasse, Ablaye Seck, and Abdou Khadre Dieng are the six Senegalese nationals who died while in Tangier, Morocco, in an attempt to rally Spain via the Mediterranean.
In a boat when there were 12 of them, our source said that only one survivor was found. The other 5 people have so far not been found. The Spanish authorities are still looking for the victims.
This is a very bad time for Senegalese nationals from abroad. When they are not victims of death by murder, it is drowning. After the assassinations of Idy Diène in Italy and those of Mame Mbaye Ndiaye and Ousseynou Mbaye in Spain, it was recently learned that Marie Faye had also been murdered in the United States. As if that were not enough, Mouhamadou Baldé was also coldly murdered in his shop in Congo Brazzaville.
To this wave of assassination are added the deaths of six other Senegalese nationals leaving from Morocco to join Spain.
