The President of the United States said he was never drawn to alcohol because of the death of his brother Fred Trump Jr., due to alcohol problems. “I had a brother, Fred, a great guy, a handsome guy, a great personality, a lot better than mine, he had a drinking problem and he said, ‘Do not drink’. And so far, I have never drunk and I do not want to, I see no interest, “ he revealed.

A strong speech at a time when the United States is affected by an opiate crisis. Donald Trump has pledged to fight and overcome drug addiction through the establishment of a 90-day state of emergency, although no additional resources will be deployed because of the assistance already given to some States after hurricanes.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Federal Administration for Addiction and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) reveal that 2.4 million Americans are addicted to opioids, of which 100 die each day overdose.

The government will implement other measures, including the design of non-addictive painkillers, as well as the priority for the Justice Department to prosecute drug traffickers.
