“I Am Here, and I Will Always be There”, Says Gabon’s President Ali Bongo

Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba announced on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at a meeting of his party that he is “there” and will be “always there”.  

“I have so much to say to you, that finally I will not say anything (…) I am here and I will always be there,” said Mr. Bongo when giving an improvised speech for the first time after the vascular accident brain injury he suffered in October 2018.

This speech took place at the closing of the Republican tour of his chief of staff, Brice Laccruche Alihanga. A first for Ali Bongo who had not spoken in public for almost a year. A speech where he does not hide his joy.
