Here is the Most Powerful Man in the World in 2019 According to Forbes

Forbes Magazine recently published the ranking of the most powerful men in the world for the current year. The criteria that come into play are the number of people directly influenced by the members of this list, the financial capacity, the possibility of having an influence outside his country.

For the third consecutive year, Vladimir Putin is at the top of the ranking. He’s coming right in front of Angela Merkel and Barack Obama. Former French President François Hollande arrives in 16th place.

Vladimir Putin ” continues to prove that he is one of the few people in the world who can afford to do what he wants, ” said Forbes magazine to justify this choice.

The position and action of Vladimir Putin in Syria has allowed him to strengthen his influence at the international level.

Second place is occupied by a woman: German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She won three places over 2014 and is ahead of former US President Barack Obama. The former Democratic president has lost a place.

It must be said that it is five years since Vladimir Putin is in the top 3 of this ranking. Pope Francis retains 4th place. In the first year of the launch of this ranking in 2009, Nicolas Sarkozy occupied the 56th position out of 67 winners. Two other French are on the list: IMF director Christine Lagarde and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, who is coming down to 59th place.

The head of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who made a notable entry  last year, lost three places in the standings. He goes down to 57th place.

Among the newcomers to this shortlist are Hillary Clinton (58th) in front of her husband Bill (64th). President Donald Trump enters 72nd place.
