Here Are The 9 African Women In The BBC Ranking Of The “100 most inspiring women in the world”  

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) unveiled on September 27th the list of 100 inspiring and innovative women who marked the year 2017. These exceptional women include nine women from the continent. Who are they? What are they doing? we tell you everything in this article.

1- Adelle Onyango

Adelle Onyango is a 28-year-old Kenyan radio presenter and radio presenter. The young woman is involved in the Kenyan women’s empowerment programs (mentoring and apprenticeship programs).

Anita Nderu is a TV presenter and radio presenter at Capital FM, a radio station based in the Kenyan capital. The 27-year-old woman is passionate about mentoring young people.

3- Anne-Marie Imafidon

Anne-Marie Imafidon is a young prodigy of technology originating in Nigeria. At the age of 27, she is the youngest scientist to have been made by Queen Elizabeth II since 1890. Anne-Marie Imafidon wants to inspire the next generation of women to take an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Chaima Lahsini is a feminist, human rights activist and journalist in Rabat. The young woman of 24 years led the demonstrations in Morocco after the sexual assault of a young woman on a bus of Casablanca.

5- Ellen johnson sirleaf


Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is the first woman elected to head an African state. President Sirleaf led Liberia for more than a decade.

6- Marieme Jamme

Marieme Jamme is the Senegalese businesswoman who founded the iamtheCODE platform  . Self-taught, the 43-year-old entrepreneur learned to read and write at the age of 16. In 2012, the American magazine Forbes named her among the 20 most influential young women in Africa.

7- Naomi Mwaura

Naomi Mwaura is the founder of the ”  Flone Initiative  “, an organization that aims to educate and inspire young Kenyan women. Naomi is one of the organizers of the anti-harassment event in Kenya #MyDressMyChoice, which later resulted in the change of the law on harassment in the country. Naomi Mwaua is 31 years old.

8- Talent Jumo

Talent is a 36-year-old Zimbabwean woman, founder and director of the Katswe Sistahood movement. Talent supports victims of sexual violence by providing legal advice and support. Talent Jumo struggle for the right of Zimbabwean women in sexual and reproductive health.

Tiwa Savage is a 37-year-old Nigerian artist and composer. She is one of the important members of the African music scene. She plans to open a music school.
