Here Are 5 Of Akon’s Initiatives In Africa!

In addition to being a recognized singer in the middle of the Show biz, Akon – Alioune Thiam civil status – has posed several honorable deeds for the development of Africa. Here are a few…

1- A Duet with Youssou N’Dour

The audio of the song “Khalice” stems from a collaboration between Akon and Youssou N’Dour. In a Mbalax rhythm, the two artists sing in Wolloff. Surprising on the part of Akon that we always listened to sing in English.

Here he plunges into his African sources, and asserts himself even more as Senegalese.

2- Signatures of Caribbean and African artists with his label Konvict Record

Konvict Muzik is an  American record label  , located in  Atlanta ,  Georgia . It was founded in 2005 by singer and producer Akon and Melvin Brown. The label includes many famous and popular artists such as  Lady Gaga ,  Kardinal Offishall ,  Brick & Lace ,  Kat DeLuna  and  Colby O’Donis .

In 2011, Akon signed the Nigerian artists:  P-Square , 2face, and Wizkid as representatives of his label Konvict Muzik in  Africa.

3- Akon Lighting Africa

Akon Lighting Africa is a project focused on the development of Africa; It is the access to energy that will enable the rapid transformation of the continent; And logically, after electrification comes education.

4- Rural mobile clinics in Africa with Dr Lu

An initiative launched across Africa that creates real health solutions, one city at a time.

5- He buys 50% of the music platform “Musik bi”

Musikbi is entirely of Senegal, his home country. The platform had problems for its expansion, since it sold only 15,000 titles, the first year of existence. Today, it could experience a much better lot with a majority shareholder of Akon’s caliber.
