Asamoah Gyan Is ‘Better’ Than Ronaldo and Messi

Fans of these teams and followers of the two players will surely take a swipe at the ‘controversial’ Yaya Mohammed, but he insists what he is saying is factual.

The former Asante Kotoko midfielder insists that the conditions that the two had during their development stages would have made Asamoah Gyan a devastating player than them if he had the same.

The versatile midfielder added that Ghanaian do not recognize their own by hailing their local heroes, but Gyan would have been a ‘god’ if he had been an European.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Ashh FM, the former Local Black Stars captain lauded the Ghana captain insisting Ghanaians must begin to respect our own.

“What Asamoah Gyan is doing here in Ghana is far better than that of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. But sadly we don’t respect him because he is a Ghanaian,” Yaya said.

“I shall always rate Asamoah Gyan ahead of the two because if Gyan had been an European, he would have been highly recognized than the two. So why don’t I respect my own and help him to spur on? We must begin to respect our own.”

“Looking at their developments, Gyan did not even play an academy, but Messi has been with Barcelona since infancy and Ronaldo have been with Sporting Lisbon Academy in Portugal before joining the senior side and subsequently to Manchester United.”

Aduana Stars awesome midfielder Yaya Mohammed has sparked controversy by saying Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan is a better player than Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona wizard Lionel Messi.

“So if Gyan had even played an academy and gotten the opportunities they have, Gyan would have been devastating by now,” he concluded.

Yaya Mohammed signed a two-year contract with the 2010 champions to re-launch his dwindling career after a short stint with Ahli Tripoli in Libya.
