Guinea: Tiken Jah Sends A Strong, Important Message To President Alpha Condé

On Friday, November 10, 2017, the reggae-man artist of Ivorian origin, Tiken Jah Fakoly, arrived in Siguiri, a town located in the north-east of Guinea Conakry. This visit to the country of Sékou Touré is part of the inauguration of a school, the fruit of his project he formulated under the theme: ”  a concert, a school  “.

In an interview he gave to the local press, the pan-Africanist singer took the opportunity to address an important message to the Guinean Head of State Alpha Condé. According to our fellow Guineenews , Tiken Jah urged President Conde not to run for president to seek a third term. ” I would say to Alpha Condé not to attempt a third term. Because, all the presidents who did it, left by the little door of history. So he who has posited positive acts, he does not get carried away by these people who want to mislead.  ”

Tiken Jah also made a point about a song for the release of Alpha Conde. The Ivorian reggae Man specifies that he sang for the release of Alpha Condé and not for Alpha Condé. ”  I never sang for Alpha Condé, but for his release. Because, I told myself that it is not normal that an opponent is imprisoned …  “. Recalling the time when Alpha Conde was an opponent and had been thrown into prison.

Recall that the second term of President Guinean Alpha Conde will expire in 2020. According to the constitution, he will no longer be a candidate for the next presidential election to run for a third term. But what Tiken Jah fears is a change in the constitution to allow him to run for a third term.
