Gyan made his debut for the Black Stars in 2003 and has since gone on to become a mainstay in the team, racking up over 100 appearances in national colours.
The 32-year-old former Sunderland striker’s goal scoring exploits have seen him ranked as the ninth highest scoring active international footballer.
The Black Stars captain’s 51 goals see him ranked above the likes of the Netherlands’ Robin van Persie and Australia’s Time Cahill who are both on 50 goals.
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is, however, ranked as the highest scoring active footballer at international level with 81 goals for Portugal.
The former Manchester United star is closely followed by rival Lionel Meesi, with the Barcelona star having netted 61 times for Argentina.
The top 10 also features the likes of Neymar, David Villa, Eden Dzeko and Robert Lewandowski.
Gyan is the only African footballer to have made the list following his impressive run in front of goal for the Black Stars.
The Kayserispor striker is also Africa’s leading scorer at the World Cup with six goals.
