But after winning around 61 % of votes in Liberia’s presidential election, Weah, from the Congress for Democratic Change party, is set to do just that – become Liberia’s first President in the country’s first democratic transition in many decades.

He walks into the presidency with supporters expecting him to score highly for a nation that has 80% of its population living on less than a dollar a day.
