Neymar outburst at the Olympics
A couple of days after Brazil beat Germany on penalties to win the gold medal at the Olympics, a fan cam video of Neymar started doing the rounds on social media.
The video recorded the moment Neymar lost his cool with a fan in the crowd at the Maracana.
As the Barcelona star was walking around the pitch with his gold medal around his neck and an army of security guards surrounding him, Neymar took offence to one person in the stands.
Neymar was obviously extremely angry with the supporter, as the striker twice turned to the stands to get involved in a heated verbal exchange.
Indeed, Neymar reportedly swore at the fan, while the attacker needed to be restrained by his minders.
It’s unclear what triggered Neymar off, however the rumours doing the rounds are that the Brazilian striker let off steam having earlier been criticised by local fans as Brazil struggled to perform at the start of the competition.
Gabriel Jesus defends Neymar
On Tuesday, Brazilian youngster Gabriel Jesus spoke about Neymar’s outburst, and the starlet defending his international team mate. As reported on Globo, Gabriel Jesus said:
The criticisms are very unfair. Sometimes people speak without knowing. I did not know him (Neymar), but (during the Olympics) he showed that it is a very nice and humble person.
He is a leader… He treats everyone the same way.
Sometimes people think he is not humble, but he is.
