A sales executive at the farm said it was operating at 58 per cent of its capacity, according to NewsDay, an independent daily newspaper based in Zimbabwe.

The auction is expected to take place on Saturday.

Mugabe and his wife Grace were accused of evicting smallholders to set up the Gushungo Dairy estate in Mazowe outside the capital Harare.

Mugabe owned several farms despite laws limiting individuals to owning one farm.

Mugabe was ousted in 2017, after 37 years in office, following a brief military takeover and subsequently succeeded by Emmerson Mnangagwa.
