Former Barcelona Star Ronaldinho’s Mother Dies Of COVID-19 At 71


Brazilian football star Ronaldinho Gaúcho’s mother, Dona Miguelina succumbed to Coronavirus on Saturday.


Miguelina, aged 71, was hospitalised after testing positive last year while in their home city of Porto Alegre, Southern Brazil.



In December 22nd, the Ballon d’Or winner tweeted saying, “Dear friends, my mother is with Covid and we are in the fight for her to recover soon. She is in the intensive care unit, receiving all the care. Thank you in advance for your prayers, positive energies and affection. Mother strength”


The mayor of Belo Horizonte, Alexandre Kalil, president of Atletico Mineiro at the time the former player defended the club, on Saturday tweeted saying, “Ronaldinho, my son, l know what it is to lose a mother. My feelings at that moment are so difficult.”
