First Lady of Zimbabwe Grace Mugabe Says – “I’m Already President”

Zimbabwe’s First Lady Grace Mugabe has purportedly told the ZANU-PF ladies’ association that she is as of now president.

As indicated by First Lady Grace, she arranges and does everything with President Robert Mugabe.

This was accounted for by NewsDay, which cited Angeline Muchemeyi, the Mashonaland West Zanu-PF ladies’ class director, as saying that First Lady Grace Mugabe made the remark with the point of overseeing the point that there is no purpose behind her to battle for the post of the administration.

The existing faction within the ruling ZANU-PF is no longer news flash. The factions are allegedly two different groups with two different candidates to succeed 92-year-old President Mugabe.

The Lacoste faction, which is also being supported by Mugabe’s former allies, the Zimbabwe War Veterans, support an Emmerson Mnangagwa Presidency. Mnangagwa, who is currently vice president, is in the right poition to succeed Mugabe if the President winds up in a situation where he can no longer rule.

The other faction, the G-40 is said to be in favor of Grace Mugabe, and they plan to set her up as the vice President of Zimbabwe, which would eventually lead to her claiming the throne of the presidency in the event that the frail president Mugabe becomes incapacitated to rule or at worst, passes on.

“The First Lady said ‘I’m the wife of the president, I’m the president already … I plan and do everything with the president, what more do I want, for now the position of the women boss is enough’,” Muchemeyi was quoted as saying.

Grace is currently the Zanu-PF women’s league secretary, a position she has held since 2014.

On the other hand, President Mugabe responded to calls for him to step down and retire, saying that he would retire properly when the time came for him to do so. He said this without further elaborating on what he meant by “properly.”
