Usain Bolt may have won Olympic gold medals for Jamaica, but after his country failed to qualify for the World Cup, the retired sprinter supports another country, Argentina.
Bolt is the most successful sprinter of his generation, having won the gold medal in the 100m and 200m three consecutive times (between 2008 and 2016).
But the Jamaican is also a big fan of football, and before the kickoff of the flagship tournament this summer, he revealed that he is wholeheartedly with Argentina.
“For me, I’m a fan of Argentina. I think we have good chances. If we play well, we can reach the final, see win. “
“I can not wait to watch the World Cup and see the super teams,” said Usain Bolt quoted by Dailymail.
Argentina qualified for the world thanks to Lionel Messi’s hat-trick in his last qualifier against Ecuador.
Jorge Sampaoli’s men will have to face Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria in Group D. Albiceleste have lost three finals, twice in Copa America and at the 2014 World Cup.
