FIFA Suspends One African Player for Life, Bans Three Others for Match Fixing

FIFA’s internal justice system suspended four African players. He is a Ugandan and three Kenyans following their involvement in match-fixing.

George Mandela is the Ugandan player who was suspended with Moses Chikati, Festus Okiring and Festo Omukot who are Kenyan players.

They are accused of being the actors in match-fixing. They had a “central role” in the process of manipulating D1 matches in Kenya.

The Ugandan player was suspended for life by the ethics committee of the body, while the three others of Kenyan nationality were suspended for four years. The sanctions were imposed following an investigation by the FIFA Integrity Department into Kenyan Premier League matches played in 2019.
