Family Talent; Meet Timothy Weah, the 3rd Child of Liberia’s President George Weah

Timothy Weah, the third child of the former glory of Paris Saint Germain, now the president of Liberia, wants to make a name for himself in the world of football. His father George Weah, well known also left traces. From father to son, the rage of football is spreading. Born in 2000 (18 years old), the son of the Liberian president has already found a team where he evolves somehow.

He has just made his professional debut at Paris Saint Germain, the club where his father is more than a living icon. On March 3, in Troyes during the 28th day of Ligue 1, the young Timothy (photo on the right) was able to demonstrate his expertise. The young striker replaced Argentina’s Giovani Lo Celso in the 78th minute, while he savored his first game from the bench.

 American International

His first steps, Tim Weah, as the nicknames call him, made them in the United States. It is this same land that saw it born. After a stint at Rosedale SC, a small club from Queens, New York, he went on to other clubs in Florida, including West Pines United FC, before landing in New York.

At the age of 10, he was cast at the BW Gottschee academy where he became captain of his team. Before joining Europe at the age of 13, Timothy Weah proved himself at Red Bulls in New York for a year.

 And in Europe …

By joining Europe, his performances have caught the eye of the leaders of PSG, the former club of his father. This is where he shone in the years 1995 by winning the golden ball.

As for Timothy, he played in PSG youth until 2016 when he became the author of a hat-trick for one of his first league games and a five-fold in an Al Kass Cup encounter. “I had a test in Chelsea, but I’ve always been drawn to France and especially PSG. This is my favorite team. I hope that one day, I too, will play in this beautiful team, “he said.

And his dream has come true. Finally, he signed a 3-year contract with PSG and evolves as a professional. He will leave in 2020 but before Timothy says “proud to play” for his “heart club”.
