Facebook has just appointed Mrs. Uche Ofodile to be Its Regional Head, Africa for Express Wi-Fi.
Prior to this new reputable and respected position, Uche was the CEO of Tigo DRC, and former Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone in Ghana.
As Tigo’s DRC CEO, the enterprising Nigerian has amassed about 2 decades of experience.
The appointment was shared by the successful lady on both of her Instagram and Facebook accounts. According to her posts on social media, her job description entails the widening of the reach of internet in Africa.
“Today, I’m happy to announce that I am joining Facebook as the Regional Head, Africa for Express Wi-Fi.”
“As a key component of internet.org‘s mission to connect the two-thirds of the world that is not already connected, the goal of Express Wi-Fi is to help expand connectivity to underserved locations around the world through Wi-Fi.”
She says that the job will warrant a relocation to the UK. Already well traveled, Uche Ofodile has worked in several African countries and beyond in the course of her multi-business ventures.
The FB Regional Head, says she has interest in empowering entrepreneurs as she takes up her brand new position.
“Not only do we aim to increase the number of internet users; we also help create and empower local entrepreneurs! I am so proud of the work the team has done so far and we will continue to build on this in Africa. I am super excited to be joining the team.”
In all, she expressed her delight and profound gratitude to be found capable of handling the position. As she proclaims her love for her job she also left what would seem like a motivational piece for the working class who may not be happy with their jobs.
“I am paraphrasing, but they say when you find a job you love, it doesn’t feel like work. I fully agree. This is what I have found so great about working in Africa over the last 16 years.”

On that note the passionate business woman and hardworker, says she is looking forward to breaking more barriers on the job.
Uche Ofodile obtained a degree in Political Science from the Ramapo College, New Jersey. She furthered her education at Columbia Business School- Columbia University where she studied Strategic Management under their Executive Education program.
While with Vodacom, it is reported that Uche’s efforts took the Telecom operator from the 4th to the 2nd best Telecom operator with the second largest number of customers and market share.
Confident Uche is the wife of Ghanaian rapper, Captain Planet, leader of hip-hop music group 4×4.
