Egyptian President, El-Sisi Holds Telephone Conversation With President Trump On Various Issues


Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held a telephone conversation with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump, where they discussed various issues.

According to the Egyptian presidency, the two presidents during the Thursday conversation expressed their appreciation and had an exchange of views on the developments of a number of regional issues of common interest.


They also discussed some areas of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the U.S.

President el-Sisi pledged to continue efforts aimed at strengthening strategic relations between the two countries within a firm framework of common interests and mutual respect.

Egypt and the U.S. engage in cooperation on various issues.

The North African country is seen as an important partner of U.S. in the Middle East and is designated as a non-NATO ally of the US-led coalition against terrorism.

El-Sisi has met Donald Trump several times since the latter took office in January 2017. They have also held many telephone conversations to discuss various issues of mutual interest.
