Egypt Becomes The First African Country To Support Trump’s Immigration Ban!!

At last, President Donald Trump has secured the signature of one of the 53 African countries that make up the continent. Egypt has declared its support for U.S. President Trump’s accusation of western media, who the President claims to have deliberately not reported on terrorist attacks.

On Monday, President Trump accused the media of ignoring attacks by Islamic militants around the world, therefore downplaying the importance of his travel ban on certain countries.

The President made the statement during his visit to the US Central Command in Tampa, Florida. He cited the 9/11, the Boston Marathon bombings, the Orlando gay nightclub massacre and the San Bernardino shootings, bearing on the importance of closing the United States’ borders to people from these Muslim countries.

“You have seen what happened in Paris and Nice. All over Europe, it’s happening. It’s gotten to a point where it’s not even being reported,” he said.

“And in many cases, the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it.”

The foreign ministry in Egypt’s capital, Cairo, through spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid praised President Trump’s stance on the issues while disapproving the methods of western media in covering some terrorist attacks.

“The Foreign Ministry hailed the U.S. administration’s stance in this regard, referring to Egypt’s repeated calls upon the international community to adopt a comprehensive, coordinated and non-selective strategy to combat terrorism at all levels; security, political, cultural, media and others,” the statement said.

The White House distributed a list of 78 attacks which were reportedly executed or inspired by Islamic militants, some of which were carried out in Egypt.

“Accusations and the finger of blame were pointed at others (like Egypt) after terrorist attacks… which some Western media portrayed as a security failure on the part of the government,” Egypt’s foreign ministry said on Monday.

Since the fall of Mohammed Morsi in 2103, Egypt has been fraught with jihadist attacks especially from the Islamic State (IS)

The foreign ministry further added that it hopes there will be an “essential shift in the way the international community deals with the phenomenon of terrorism”.
