Egypt professor suspended for 'insulting Prophet Muhammad' – Dateline  Nigeria

A sociology professor in the Egyptian city of Alexandria has been suspended for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad while airing his views about the Charlie Hebdo cartoons in a broadcast online.



Students at the Higher Institute for Social Work said they were offended by Muhammad Mahdali’s comments and lodged a complaint.


They posted footage after the professor deleted his feed and apologised.


The minister of higher education has ordered the suspension of Dr Mahdali and ordered an urgent investigation.
