Economy: France is no Longer the Sixth World Most Power; According to World Bank

France has been dethroned from its position as sixth world economic power. The announcement was made by the World Bank which also gave the ranking of the world powers this Tuesday, July 10.

France gives way to India, which is experiencing quite remarkable growth. Thus, in the ranking of global economic power 2017, France is no longer in its place as sixth world economic power.

The Center for Economics and Business Research had already forecast by calculation the fall of France. The loss of the latter’s position is due to the July 2017 growth of the Indian economy. In addition, India’s population is expected to increase in the next few years to 1.34 billion.

For the moment, India’s gross domestic product is $ 2,597 billion. It doubled in 10 years while that of France is set at 2,582 billion euros, behind Japan (3rd), Germany (4th) and the United Kingdom (5th).

The United States in the lead

Donald Trump’s country has once again confirmed its economic leadership in the world. China is in second place. The GDP of the United States stood at 19 391 billion in 2017 when that of China reached 12 238 billion.
