DRC: 2 Million Children At Risk Of Famine – UN

The UN is alarmed by the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where more than two million children are at particular risk due to severe acute malnutrition. A donor conference will take place on April 13 in Geneva. In total, 4.5 million people are displaced by violence in the country, spokesmen from UN agencies told reporters in Geneva on Friday.

For 2018, a $ 1.68 billion call was launched.

The aid must include the Kasai region where some 300,000 children are threatened. UN Head of Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lowcock is scheduled to visit the site next week.
