Atlanta couple Robyn and Zak Wallace have made history as they are behind the first Black-owned food truck to operate at Walt Disney World. They are the owners of Local Green, a vegetarian restaurant they launched together in Atlanta in 2017.

They opened their first Local Green food truck at Disney Springs this past March and they will offer vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian dishes just like their brick-and-mortar location.

“We want folks to know you don’t have to sacrifice your taste for health,” Robyn told Disney.

She and her husband became vegan lovers after watching their loved ones battle cancer or high blood pressure. Several warnings from doctors not to eat fried foods or fried pork but lean meat and vegetables made them change their lifestyle.

To honor the memory of their loved ones, they started Local Green, which was also a call to action, particularly for Black people. Zaks said their idea of Local Green was to bring something to their community without scarifying taste.

“We want folks to know you don’t have to sacrifice your taste for health,” Robyn said.

Originally, Robyn wanted to become a doctor before becoming an entrepreneur. She is a graduate of the North Carolina A&T and majored in lab animal science. She also did her graduate program at Johns Hopkins University in analytics.
