Diomande Mé Aboubacar: Ivorian Int’l Player “Hit” by Train in India

The Ivorian football world is still in mourning. Former Ivorian footballer Diomande Mé Aboubacar died on August 9, 2019, while on his way to a meeting in India.

According to the account of a witness joined by the sports-ivory editorial, the footballer was hit by a train.

True or false, doubt about the conditions of his death persists.


Aged 31, the late Aboubacar has graduated from the Sol Béni Academy in Abidjan. He was playing there as a midfielder.

After two years at the academy he was promoted to first team in January 2005. He spent two seasons there before flying to Charlton in England.

He will know later a passage empty before resolving to join the country of Mahatma Ghandi, a few years ago.

The former player is among the death cases of Ivorian players abroad not yet clarified. Steve Gohouri, 34, another ex-Ivorian international living in Germany, was found dead in unsolved conditions.

His body was found dead in the Rhine River in Germany. He had been missing for almost three weeks and was actively seeking.
