Didier Drogba Could Become Future President of the Ivorian Football Federation

Elections to the Ivorian Football Federation are on the agenda. And perhaps it is important to note that an emblematic candidate of the Ivorian selection is added to the list. It is Didier Drogba, ex-legendary captain of the elephants of Ivory Coast. It will not be a surprise if the former elephant captain of Ivory Coast becomes very soon the president of the Ivorian football federation (FIF).

Although the information is not yet official, several sources agree that it is well founded in that it comes from the closest to the former striker Olympique Marseille and Galatasaray. However, the official announcement of this application is scheduled for August 7 or a few days later.

As a reminder, elections are scheduled either in December 2019 or January 2020. This announcement joins the promise of candidacy of Eugène Diomandé, President of Séwé Sport San Pedro, currently in Europe.

It must be said that the candidature of Didier Drogba at the head of the Ivorian Football is very encouraged by several lovers of football in Côte d’Ivoire. The former Ivorian international is also seen as the one who will save Ivorian football. It is also said that the recent trips of the Ivorian star in Egypt and France were part of the preparation of his candidacy. The Ivorian wanted to meet some football authorities with whom he wanted to discuss about it.

If Didier Drogba is elected president of the IFF, he will succeed Sidy Diallo, who is no longer a candidate for his own succession.

Becoming the IFF president will be a good news for Didier Drogba at the level of the African football federation in that the former footballer will have a dual responsibility. Not only has he been recently appointed advisor to President Ahmad Ahmad, but he will also be doubly involved in football management.
