Defense: A Peek at the Newly Acquired ‘Machine of War’ by the Ivorian Army

The Ivorian army has a new tactical military cargo aircraft C295 on Thursday at a ceremony chaired by Defense Minister Hamed Bakayoko.


Ivory Coast joins the family of the owners of this machine. According to its characteristics, the aircraft is a CASA C295 type aircraft manufactured by AIRBUS DEFENSE AND SPACE.

It was handed this Thursday, April 25, 2019 to the military authorities of the GATL, in the town of Port Bouët and in the presence of the Minister of Defense Hamed Bakayoko, who welcomed such an advance.

“Together we are writing today the historical pages of the Ivorian Air Force. We can see it gain momentum, because in 2011, Ivory Coast’s air force was equipped with dynamic, valiant officers and non-commissioned officers but had almost no aircraft, “Bakayoko said. was delighted with the acquisition of this aircraft which has a lifespan of 30 years.

The C295W is an aircraft intended mainly for hot countries and / or benefiting from altitude base such as Africa, Latin America, Asia and Middle East.
