As indicated by North Korea’s security division the plot was thwarted. They as far as anyone knows gave dates of communication, sum paid and names of people involved in the death plot.
However, the United States and South Korea have declined in giving an announcement with respect to the allegation.Excerpts of the official statement released by the Asian country read thus,
“The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the U.S. and the Intelligence Service (IS) of south Korea, hotbed of evils in the world, hatched a vicious plot to hurt the supreme leadership of the DPRK and those acts have been put into the extremely serious phase of implementation after crossing the threshold of the DPRK.”
“They hatched a plot of letting human scum Kim commit bomb terrorism targeting the supreme leadership during events at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun and at military parade and public procession after his return home.”
The lengthy statement detailed a long term plot by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the U.S. and the Intelligence Service (IS) of south Korea to exterminate the North Korean President.
North Korean Ministry of state security identified the assassin as ‘Kim'(real name withheld). They stated that Kim was paid to carry out an attack with biochemical substances.
They claim that Kim was handed $20,000 (£15,500) and a further two of $100,000 for the plot; and was also given a satellite transmitter-receiver.
Information from the security ministry’s allegation says that South Korea’s IS promised Kim top secrecy and protection. Kim’s family was threatened if he did not successfully carry out the plot.
“In the end, they gave him assurances of IS that they would keep his duty concerning terrorism against the supreme leadership as secret, and infiltrated him after appeasing and blackmailing him that his families would not be scot-free in case he fails to carry out the duty.”
The statement reassured the US and their “puppets” that North Korea would never tolerate an attack on their leadership.
“We will ferret out and mercilessly destroy to the last one the terrorists of the U.S. CIA and the puppet IS of south Korea targeting the dignity of the DPRK supreme leadership.”
It is not clear how the radical Asian country obtained their facts or the whereabouts of the supposed ‘Kim’.
Biological weapons require a range of proximity to succeed. Considering that, analyst fault the plot allegation since the North Korean leader is usually surrounded by security agents.
Recall that Kim Jong-un’s half brother, Kim Jong-nam, was recently killed with a biological weapon at Kuala Lumpur international airport.
BBC‘s analyst, Michael Bristow however suggests that North Korea’s Assassination Claims be taken with a pinch of salt.
“It is important to remember several things, not least that North Korea has provided no supporting evidence for its allegations. Past history also suggests caution. North Korea often uses colourful language and is no stranger to extravagant claims.”
Adding to North Korea’s assassination claims, Pyongyang still threatens to carry out a 6th nuclear test.
