Death Penalty Demanded for Five Individuals Accused of Drugging and Dismembered Jamal Khashoggi

Jamal Khashoggi was drugged and dismembered by five Saudi officials, according to the Riyadh attorney general. Saudi prosecutors have demanded the death penalty against them. He put the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman completely out of the question.

The Saudi prosecutor’s office on November 15 demanded the death sentence against five leaders of the kingdom accused of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, pointing out that the journalist was drugged and dismembered in the consulate of his country in Istanbul, according to the attorney general.

According to the spokesman of the prosecutor’s office, Jamal Khashoggi, a critical columnist for power , especially Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salmane, known as MBS, was killed on 2 October after being drugged at his country’s consulate in Istanbul, where he was arrested. was dismembered by five Saudi officials.

The Saudi Attorney General also dismissed Crown Prince MBS. The powerful prince had no knowledge of the case, according to the spokesperson of the Attorney General who was answering a journalist. The deputy chief of Saudi services, General Ahmed al-Assiri, reportedly ordered Jamal Khashoggi back by force or will, but the leader of the ” negotiators ” team dispatched to the scene was finally ordered to kill him.

The Saudi prosecutor has also asked Turkey to sign a “special” cooperation agreement concerning the investigation of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. The purpose of this “specific mechanism” is to provide Turkey with the results of the Saudi inquiry and to obtain from Ankara “the relevant evidence and information” in its possession .

On October 20, more than two weeks after the journalist’s murder, Riyadh officially acknowledged that Jamal Khashoggi had been killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, alleging that a fist fight had gone wrong. The next day, a senior Saudi government official  claimed that the journalist had died as a result of “mistakes” made by the team in charge of “negotiating” his return to Saudi Arabia. The same source claimed that the journalist had been accidentally killed by a “choking” which was supposed to prevent him from raising his voice during his interview.
