Dakar, Harare, Tripoli, Lagos Among the 10 Least Livable Cities in the World

Senegal has, once again, been quoted in a case that does not honor it at all. After being the champion of violations of freedom of expression, the Senegalese capital has just won another record that pulls the country down. This time, it is the ranking of the world’s least liveable cities. And Dakar is in the top 10, according to the annual global survey of the Economist Intelligence Unit.

The hat has just been pulled for Vienna, the Austrian capital that takes the place of Melbourne in Australia, so far the most pleasant city to live in the world.

For the first time, a European capital wins the prize for a total of 140 countries. To rank, investigators rely on political and social stability, crime rates, education, and access to health care.

The ranking places Damascus, Syria, the least livable city in the World, because of the war. Then comes Dhaka in Bangladesh and Lagos, Nigeria.

To make the ranking, The Economist said that the crime rate has played a lot, as well as civil unrest, terrorism and war. Here is the ranking.
