Cyril Ramaphosa to Foreign Powers: “African Problems Must be Resolved by Africans”

President Cyril Ramaphosa met with German Chancellor Angela Mekel during his visit to South Africa on Thursday.

The South African leader praised relations with Germany, describing the country as an important trading partner.

“Germany is South Africa’s second largest trading partner, a major investor in our economy, an important tourism market for us, South Africans, and a highly valued development partner.

I am happy to say that the German investors did not disappoint us. They have strengthened their presence in our economy and they are increasingly contributing to job growth ,  said Mr. Ramaphosa.

Regarding the situation in Libya, he stressed that there must be African solutions to African problems.

“As Africans, we would always like African problems to be solved by Africans. There must be African solutions to these problems. The Libyan problem is unique because we have a number of western countries involved in this conflict, “ he said.
