6 Chinese nationals were arrested by the Ugandan police after escaping from their quarantine center.
Commissioner Asan Kasingye said in a tweet that they were arrested in the Zombo district en route to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

“Chinese people who had escaped from their quarantine center were arrested in Zombo, en route to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They will be charged in our courts. “
Minister of State for Primary Health Care Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu confirmed their arrest last Sunday.

“The 6 Chinese nationals who were arrested in Zombo for escaping from their quarantine center before 14 days were brought back to Kampala today. They will be tried in Nakawa. This is not a joke. Uganda has taken drastic measures that everyone is supposed to follow.

Their passports were seized until the court decision. I hope that others in quarantine can learn from this experience and follow the directions given. Please stay safe and be vigilant, ” she tweeted.
