On Saturday April 11, 2020, the Hon. Alan Kyerematen, the country’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, paid a working visit to four Ghanaian clothing manufacturing companies in Accra.
The companies have been selected by the Ghanaian government to produce personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline health workers leading the fight against the Corona virus pandemic.
The local clothing companies visited by the Minister were Dignity DTRT, Sleek Garments, Cadling Fashions and Alfie Designs Limited. These are, among others, companies producing facial masks, medical scrubs, hospital gowns and headdresses using ATL, Volta Star Textiles and GTP fabrics.
Mr. Kyerematen, who was accompanied by a team from the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Health, encouraged management and workers in enterprises to adhere to the World Health Organization’s preventive protocols and expressed their gratitude to the government for their support in the fight against this global pandemic.
