CHAN 2018: Kenya Dismissed By CAF

Kenya can tell God about the organization of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2018. The CAF Executive Committee, meeting on Saturday in Accra, announced that it is withdrawing the organization of the competition reserved for local players in Kenya.

“With an overwhelming majority of the members present, it was decided to withdraw from the competition in Kenya in the light of the accumulated delays and various reports of the inspection missions conducted in the country, the last of which took place from 11 to 17 September 2017, “said the governing body of African football in its statement.



As a result, the CAF is launching a new call for candidates for the organization of CHAN 2018,  “Instruction has been given to the Secretary-General of the CAF to immediately open a call for candidacy for a new host country. The deadline for receipt of applications is seven days starting Sunday, September 24th. The identity of the host country shall be disclosed within a maximum of 15 days from the opening of the call for applications “

As a reminder, here is the list of qualifiers at the next CHAN: Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Sudan, Cameroon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Namibia, Zambia. The competition begins on January 12, 2018.
