Cameroon is likely to loss its bid to host the African Cup of Nations 2019 after a meeting by CAF officials in Ghana on Friday found the country does not have the infrastructure to host the 24 team African Nations Cup, a source with information of the discussion has told National Times News.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee risk withdrawing the the organization of the CAN 2019 in Cameroon and opened the door to applications from countries wishing to organize the competition, the source adds.

National Times understands the Committee is still deliberating on the final decision, and when to open invitations of the rights to host, if the rights to host are withdrawn from Cameroon.

It is unclear what the exact reasons are for CAF officials to withdraw the rights from Cameroon, but National Times understands unsatisfactory state of infrastructure in Cameroon, pressure from the US, FIFA, and political and economic crisis in Cameroon contributed to the decision.
