Cameroon-Anglophone Crisis: Identity Of The 10 Secessionists Arrested In Nigeria Revealed

Several Cameroonian secessionists were arrested in Nigeria a few days ago. We know a little more about the identity of the implicated.

Sisiku Julius Ayuk Tabe  (computer engineer) is the self-proclaimed president of the fictitious state of Ambazonia, whose territory covers the northwestern and southwestern regions.

According to several local media, Sisiku Julius Ayuk Tabe was appointed president of the imaginary state of Ambazonia on July 8, 2017, at a meeting of the Southern United Front Cameroons Ambazonia Consortium (SCACUF), a separatist movement created in February 2017, from the union of several federalist and secessionist organizations. He had permanent resident status in Nigeria prior to his arrest.

Me Nalova Bih

She is the only woman in the group. A lawyer by training, she acted as interim secretary for the fictitious government of Ambazonia. She is also a member of the African Bar Association. A young activist, she is one of those who have been fighting for years for the Independence of Southern Cameroons. She was in asylum in Nigeria before being recently arrested.

Dr. Fidelis Nde Che

(Professor at American University of Nigeria), he was Deputy Director of the Resource Mobilization Department in the Gorverning Council of Ambazonia and represents the Southern Cameroon National Council (SCNC) in Nigeria. He is a permanent resident in Nigeria.

Dr. Nfor Ngala Nfor  is the Chairman of the Southern Cameroons National Council (SCNC), a banned separatist movement in Cameroon. This academic has been jailed several times because of his ideology pronouncing the division of Cameroon. He is a member of Gorverning Council of Ambazonia. He has the status of political asylum and refugee of the United Nations (UN).

The  Dr. Henry Kimeng  (teacher at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria) is the Deputy Director of Social Affairs of the Government of Gorverning Council Ambazonia. He is a permanent resident in Nigeria.

Pr Augustine Awasum , (veterinary doctor at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, northern Nigeria) is vice-president of the National Assembly of Ambazonia. Last October he called for the release of all students, teachers and other members of society in prison as part of the Anglophone crisis.

Dr. Cornelius Kwanga  is the Head of Department of Economy in the Sisiku Government. He is a teacher at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University in Katsina, Nigeria. This activist is one of the founders of Ambazonia. ”  Every time our people rose to protest against poor living conditions, the only response from the Yaoundé Administration was excessive brutality,  ” he said after the lawyers’ strike in Bamenda.

Trade Unionist  Tassang Wilfred   (Executive Secretary of the Cameroon Teachers’ Trade Union, CATTU) holds the National Education portfolio in the government of Ambazonia. A member of the Anglophone Civil Society Consortium, Wilfred Tassang fled to Nigeria the day after the teachers’ strike in the northwestern and southwestern regions. He has recently granted asylum status in Nigeria

The initiator of the dead cities in both regions,  Me Eyambe Elias Elango , is a member of the coordination secretariat of Ambazonia. On August 14, 2017, on behalf of the English-speaking consortium, he signed a communiqué announcing the beginning of the ghost town. He has the status of political asylum in Nigeria.

Dr.  Ojong Okongho  (Professor of Universities in Nigeria) is in the ministerial department of Foreign Affairs of Southern Cameroons. He is a permanent resident in Nigeria.
