In 2020, people of the land of upright men will go to the polls to choose their future leader. In this fever, President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré announced his candidacy for the presidential election of 2020.
The Burkinabè President spoke on the subject on June 24 during the presentation of his mid-term report on national television.
In power since 2015 after a one-year transition following the popular uprising that ended the Compaoré regime,
President Kaboré is keen to complete his program and to keep the promises made to the people during election campaigns.
“In law, I am entitled to a second term. I will fight for the realization of my program and I will represent myself in 2020, “said Kaboré according to several sources.
President Kaboré has subsequently reassured the Diaspora vote even if for some opposition and civil society actors, the necessary reforms of the electoral code and the lack of coordination between the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) may to break the long-awaited vote of the diaspora.
A diaspora, it must be emphasized, is close to millions of people.
