Brazilian Alisson Becker Becomes the Most Expensive Goalkeeper in History

Brazilian Alisson Becker, 25, has become the most expensive goalkeeper in history after settling in Liverpool from Rome for a record amount that exceeds 60 million euros.

Alisson arrived on Merseyside Thursday and underwent a medical checkup at Melwood’s training base in Liverpool, where he signed a six-year contract with the club.

When signing the agreement, the Brazilian international said on the Liverpool website:

I’m really happy, it’s a dream come true to wear such a prestigious jersey for a club of this size that always wins. As for my life and career, it’s a big step for me to be part of this club and this family. You can be sure that I will give everything.

Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool coach, expressed his joy by declaring on the club’s website:

This shows the value of the goalkeepers, of course, right now. It will happen a lot in the next few weeks, I guess, and that’s it, so we’re really happy to have it here now.

His English is surprisingly good and he is a real personality. He has a lot of experience in recent years, in Europe and Rome, he played a very high level and he did the same at the World Cup.
