BlackBerry has launched its first Android smartphone PRIV which comes in a dual-curved screen with 18MP camera.
The smartphone comes with a 5.4-inch dual-curve OLED display with less power consumption. At a resolution of 2560×1440, it sports a pixel density of 540 PPI. Also, this Blackberry device lets users to choose between a virtual keyboard or a physical keyboard.
On the security front,the highlights include:
- Advanced Privacy Controls: The exclusive DTEK by BlackBerry app for Android monitors and reports on application access to the microphone, camera, location and personal information.
- Secure Hardware: Cryptographic keys have been injected into the device hardware to verify every layer of the device from hardware to OS to applications.
PRIV has a 3410 mAh battery which works up to 22.5 straight hours of mixed usage. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and provides 32 GB storage and support for micro SD cards up to 2TB.
PRIV will be available from 30 January 2016 priced at Rs 62,990. It will be available with partners and on Amazon.
Note: The company said that it will continue to release BlackBerry 10 operating system updates focused on security and privacy enhancements.
