Benin’s Talon Finally Launches “E-visa” to Raise Country’s Tourism

Scheduled for January 2018 , the  E-visa is finally effective in Benin since 23 April. It was launched by the Beninese authorities and is available to all foreign travelers wishing to stay less than 90 days in Benin.

This innovation based on the example of Rwanda from several sources, is part of a process of modernization of diplomacy, promotion of tourism and a bold step towards technology.

Thus, foreign travelers can do their transaction online without any fear. The “e-visa” could be obtained in less than 48 hours. Prices are fixed between 30,000 and 100,000 CFA francs, depending on the country of origin.

Several actors in the Beninese tourism sector are hoping for a rise in the economy thanks to this establishment of the government. A government that has since shaken Benin at all levels.

Although controversial and fiercely criticized, Beninese President Patrice Talon will have the merit of redefining Benin.
