“Because of Racism, My Son Will Not be Allowed to Play Football” Ivory Coast’s Legend Yaya Touré

Former Ivorian international Yaya Touré explained that because of racism, his son does not play football, in a video broadcast on the web.

In a particular context concerning racism in football with different controversies, especially in Italy, Yaya Touré raised the subject for Stats Perform and explained that he did not want his son to suffer this.


“I am sensitive about this because racism is something that hurts me all the time,” said the former midfielder from Barça and Manchester City.

“My child wants to play football, I told him, no you can’t do that (…) I refused to let him play because of this kind of thing”, underlined the 36 year old man who took his international retirement last May.
