After Surviving Cancer, Capitol Hill Attorney Tonya Sloans Unveils Pearl Accessories Brand To Empower Women

 

Meet Tonya Sloans. She is an HBCU graduate from Howard University School of Divinity, as well as the University of Wisconsin and Georgetown University Law Schools. She has spent over 20 years as a legal advisor in America’s capital.

Sloans is also an entrepreneur and operates an accessories business. She is the founder of Power and Pearls, an online boutique that gives confidence to women through pearl accessories, according to Black News. “Her products inspire women to wear pearls daily to feel powerful, be seen as powerful, and ultimately make power moves,” the outlet reports.

She considered the accessories business after realizing that pearls were always a part of her look during important events. Wearing pearl accessories also makes her realize the power she has to fulfill her goals in life.

“Not only do women need pearl accessories to look good, but they also need Pearls as a constant reminder of their power to prosper,” Sloans said. The Capitol Hill attorney survived two bouts of ovarian cancer.

She said, “Health hardships have an overwhelming power to knock a woman off her path towards career accomplishments. But there has to be something that brings to back from it and propels your forward.”

Sloans added that her faith in God’s healing power and her pearl looks helped her make it.

Sloans became a Capitol Hill ethics attorney advising national leaders after recovering from cancer. She then created Power and Pearls to help empower other women. According to Black News, her online boutique enables her “to send pearls across the country to do the work of career empowerment that is close to her heart.”
