The major thrust of the MoU is to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption and Transparency International in the areas of advocacy, research, capacity development, awareness raising and outreach.

“This agreement builds on the amazing work we have done with Transparency International in mapping the implementation of commitments to anti-corruption norms on the Continent. The conclusion of this agreement also comes at an opportune moment following the dedication of 2018 as the African Anti-Corruption Year” stated Mrs. Nchimunya.

“We welcome the opportunity to strengthen our commitment with the African Union to fight corruption in the region,” said Ms. Moreira. “Particularly in the current global climate, improving space for civil society to speak out and have a seat at the political table is critically important. Together, with the African Union and our chapters, we can renew our efforts to promote transparency, improve good governance and strengthen anti-corruption systems throughout Africa.”
