Adama Barrow Wins An Absolute Majority In The National Assembly Elections!!

Beaten in his polling station, Adama Barrow nevertheless won the legislative elections. The UDP, the main opposition party to former president Yaya Jammeh won an absolute majority in the legislative elections, the Independent Electoral Commission said.


238 candidates competed for the 53 seats in the National Assembly. The Udp won 31 of the 53 seats.

The vote was calm. Participation is less important than in the last presidential election of December 2016. But for those who voted, the elections were important, as they were the first after the departure of Yahya Jammeh. The page of the Gambian dictator is definitely shot in The Gambia.
